Since 2001, once a year, the Center for Women’s Studies, as a leading organization, holds a postgraduate course Feminist Critical Analysis at the Interuniversity Center (IUC) in Dubrovnik. The permanent partner of this seminar is the Department for Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (Department for Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey). The Center for Women’s Studies from Zagreb has been a partner organization for many years. Over the years, the Department of Gender Studies from the Central European University in Budapest (Central European University), the Center for Gender Studies of the Faculty of Political Sciences (FPN) of the University of Belgrade participated, and now the co-organizer is the Faculty of Media and Communication (FMK) of Singidunum University in Belgrade , as well as the IPAK Center (Research Center for Culture, Politics and Identities) from Belgrade.

Every year, the Feminist Critical Analysis course would bring together smaller groups of thirty engaged participants from the international academic community within the framework of topics such as:

Reading the Body (2001), Gender and Nation: Tradition and Transition (2002), Boundaries, Borders and Borderlands (2004) Citizenship and Be/Longing (2005), Differences,  Sexualities, Con/texts (2006) Race, Discoursrce and Biopolitics (2007) , Post/Communism, Post/Socialism, Post/Feminism (2009), Remembering the Past, Witnessing the Future (2011), Queering Knowledge: Intimacies, Spaces, Affects (2015),  Digesting Narratives: Feminist Food Practices (2016), Politics of Unlearning and Impossible Imaginaries (2017), Fragility and Failure  –  Critical Disruptions (2018), Feminism and the Left – Other Histories, Other Futures (2021).

Our students, as well as significant representatives of the international and domestic academic community, had the opportunity to present and discuss their works, among others: Linda Alcoff, Jelisaveta Blagojević, Ethel Brooks, Slavčo Dimitrov, Jelena Đorđević, Zorica Ivanović, Alison Jaggar, Snježana Milivojević, Linda Nicholson, Dragana Popović, Svetlana Slapšak, Marija Todorova, Nira Yuval Davis.

The participation of the Center for Women’s Studies was financially supported by the Open Society Fund – Belgrade, the Reconstruction Women’s Fund from Belgrade, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia, Rutgers University, USA, Heinrich Boell Stiftung and others.
